In the House, they are voting on using federal funds for stem-cell research as I post this. This is a very tight vote, and more than likely it's passage will come down to a handful of votes. I'm monitoring the numbers on CSpan, and right now the supporters lead in voting. UPDATE: the stem-cell bill will pass the House. It passed 238-191, with about 40 Republicans voting yes. And since we know it's a virtual guarantee to pass in the Senate, the heat is on Bush to veto the first bill of his presidential term. |
